The Bungalows at Joshua Tree: A Creative Retreat

Some places offer more than just a stay—they offer space to reconnect. For me, The Bungalows at Joshua Tree was exactly that. A year has passed since my visit, but the experience remains fresh in my mind as a reminder of how powerful the right environment can be for creativity and clarity.

My best friend, Paula, and I planned this trip as a mix of work and rest. We had two client projects to focus on but decided to carve out a few extra days for ourselves—to reset, reflect, and create intentionally. The Bungalows became our oasis, offering the perfect balance of inspiration and calm.

Located within the Joshua Tree Retreat Center, The Bungalows offers a quiet, minimalist space designed for rest and introspection. Each morning, I started with my morning pages, letting the stillness of the desert guide my thoughts. The simplicity of the space made it easy to focus and find clarity.

After writing, we’d walk the property, taking in the desert views and letting the calm energy of the space recharge us. By the time we returned, we felt ready to create with purpose and intention.

Joshua Tree itself added to the experience. We picked up fresh juices and snacks from local health food stores, and coffee from Joshua Tree Coffee Company became a daily ritual. These small moments of nourishment and connection perfectly complemented the intentional energy of The Bungalows.

Our stay wasn’t just about getting things done; it was about slowing down to create from a place of alignment. We left feeling rested, focused, and connected—not just to our projects but to ourselves.

If you’re looking for a space to pause, reflect, and create, The Bungalows at Joshua Tree is the perfect place to start.
